IDEA Public Charter School participates in the My School DC common application and common lottery. The lottery for the school year 2024-25 has already closed and the results will be available on March 29, 2024. However, if you missed the MSDC application deadline on February 1, 2024, you can still apply, but you will be placed on our waiting list.
Please note that if you are a current student, you should NOT submit a lottery application. Instead, re-enrollment is completed through IDEA PCS, and families will receive their re-enrollment links on March 25, 2024, and can begin filling their forms out on April 1, 2024.
IDEA Public Charter School is a free, open-enrollment, public high school in the District of Columbia. If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available, a lottery is held to determine the order in which students are offered seats. Per the District of Columbia School Reform Act, siblings of current IDEA Public Charter School students receive preference in the lottery should they apply during the open enrollment period. Students applying after the lottery will be added to the wait list on a first-come-first-served basis.
