Trevor Tummings teaches all levels of mathematics to scholars in all four grades at IDEA, using his experience and knowledge of teaching methods and classroom management to reach learners of all types. His lesson plans employ fun and creativity along with the concepts that are to be taught. He enjoys helping the scholars in his classes better understand core mathematical concepts and reach their academic goals.
He came to IDEA in 2018 and continues to work hard to improve his teaching, a goal that was challenged during the pandemic. His perseverance helped him to find creative ways to teach online.
Mr. Tummings has a master's degree in education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction and a bachelor's degree in economics from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. He earned his high school diploma in Del City, Oklahoma.
Mr. Tummings enjoys spending time with his daughter, reading, and exploring.
